'Estonia', officially the Republic of Estonia (Estonian: Eesti or Eesti Vabariik) is a country in the Baltic region of Northern Europe. It is bordered to the north by Finland across the Gulf of Finland, to the west by Sweden across the Baltic Sea, to the south by Latvia (343 km), and to the east by the Russian Federation (338,6 km). The territory of Estonia covers 45,227 km² and is influenced by a temperate seasonal climate. The Estonians are descendants of Baltic Finns, the Estonian language sharing many similarities with Finnish. The modern name of Estonia is thought to originate from the Roman historian Tacitus, who in his book Germania (ca. AD 98) described a people called the Aestii. Similarly, ancient Scandinavian sagas refer to a land called Eistland, close to the German and Danish terms Estland for the country. Early Latin and other ancient versions of the name are Estia and Hestia. Until the late 1930s, the name was often written as Esthonia in most English speaking countries.
HistorySince year 1996 Estonia was probably the forefront of electronic dance movement in former Soviet Countries and psychedelic music played significant part here. Parties in clubs, warehouses, old factories, underground military catacombs and even in moving train waggonages has spread around the whole country. We have witnessed legendary acts like Astral Projection, Lunar Assylum and others … But this “golden“ era lasted not until year 2003. After that the whole underground party movement was almost ruined by local authorities pressure and lot’s of forward thinking had left Estonia in search of free place to party

Nowdays there are still regular psytrance events and open airs that gather normally 100-200 likeminded people here and occasionally world trance gurus honour Estonian dance floors with their visits. Last highlights were Neuromotor, Para Halu, Fungus Funk. Most active promoters here are Baltic Beat Crew and Planetarium posse. Some great artist and djs came out of our small country and become recognized abroad like RadioTrance, Portal Protection, Cosmogen and others. So we still hope that psychedelic flowers will grow up on Estonian land form the seeds that was dropped in here in previous years.
