Subhira Rodrigo Cepeda is born in Santiago, Chile in 1969. After studying veterinary medicine in the Universidad de Chile (1988-89) he starts studying the career "Composition and musical arrangements" getting his title in 1995 with the highest qualification in his final exam. In 1989 He forms the band EQUS, that would mark the beggining of his professional career. From 1991 until 1993 he composes and edits the "Gambassi" and the "homonymus" albums of EQUS. Since than he is very busy to create nice tunes and present them all around the world.
Further biography1995Composes and edits "Cahuelmó", his first CD alone. Music for the short "Eterna Presencia".
1996Composes incidental music for a couple of shorts and documentaries. Very outstanding is "Ruta del Inca" for Discovery Channel and "Fiordos Australes for Peulla Films. Creates musical interludes and characteristics for Canal 2 Rock & Pop. Many compositions. With a partner he creates his independant label Mundovivo (http://www.mundovivo.cl) 1997Composition and edition of his second solo album "Cañi". Other compositions.
1998Composes for diferent documentaries and shorts. Musical production for Mundovivo Label. Many gigs in Chile and United States (California and Colorado).
1999Recording and Publishing of his 3rd album alone, "Travesía", thanks to the FONDART and Escuela Monderna de Música. Creation of characteristic and musical interludes for the cable channel PSN, with the head offices in Miami. Musical composition of the documentary "TORAL, MEMORIAS DE UN PUEBLO" transmitted by TVN on two sundays in February 2001. The label New Earth Records (http://www.newearthrec.com) publishes his album Cañi in United States and Europe. Composition and Interpretation of the music of "All Species Project" live in Santa Fe, (New Mexico-USA).
2000Tour throughout Europe (9 concerts in Spain, Germany and Denmark). Since June he composes and produces 8 musical interludes a month for the cable Channel PSN, with head offices in Miami.
2001Works for PSN untill January 2002. Musical production of records for Mundovivo. 4 concerts in Germany. 4 free concerts for the chilean audience with FONDART support.
2002Records 2 albums: "Transubhiriano" (published in 2002) and "Impresiones" (2003). For the second time he is invited to compose the music of the massive audience event "All Species Project" in Santa Fé, New Mexico (USA) (http://www.allspeciesproject.org ). Many concerts in Chile ( Teatro Oriente was outstanding, with 2 sold out presentations) and United States (New Mexico and Washington). Composition and production of music for TV (documentaries, Spots, programs). 1996-2001Executive production and/or musical of the albums "Nómade" (Andrés Cóndon), "El Bio-Bio Sigue Cantando" (Various Artists), "Silent" (Prabha), "Alma Minimal" (Pini Levalle), "Cenizas en el Mar" (Antonio Restucci), "Entrama" (Entrama), "Polo Sur Celeste (Marcelo Aedo) "Tres Culturas" (In Taberna), "A este lado del Mundo" (Viento Celta). In total he has presented more than 100 concerts of his music, with difrerent groups and in different places. Out of these we should highlight Teatro Municipal de Viña del Mar, Teatro Oriente, Centro de Extensión de la Universidad Católica de Chile, Sala Isidora Zegers de la Facultad de Artes de la Universidad de Chile, Teatro de la Escuela Moderna de Música, Centro de Eventos Oz, Sala de Conciertos de la Universidad de Concepción, Black Note (Valencia-Spain), Parimal (Witzenhausen-Germany), Operaen (Christiania- Denmark), Begginings (Gunninson-Colorado-USA), Budha Bar (Los Angeles-California-USA), Strings (Berkeley-California-USA), etc
