Sanathana is Swaroop Guhathakurta, an Electronic Dance Music producer and DJ specialising in styles such as Dub, Fusion, Chillout, Psytrance, Ambient, Techtrance, Darkpsy, IDM and the like. He was born in India in 1978 and grew up in Muscat, Oman. He started music production in 2002 as Psy Dimension in the UK. He began recording music under the name of Sanathana in 2009. (The name is a Sanskrit term which means ‘Eternal’ and the name of one of the sons of Brahma).

Swaroop G started as a DJ in 2003 playing psychedelic trance in the students union of Glasgow Caledonian University (known as ‘Asylum’). He organized small psy-gatherings at the union and had a fan following that shared the same taste in music. When he moved to the United Arab Emirates (Dubai) in 2005, he continued as a Dj and has organized some of the biggest Psytrance gatherings in UAE (Psynthesis: Indoors & Outdoors) at Chi, voted as the No.1 club in Dubai, on Islands, in the desert and many private gatherings.

On the other hand he likes his listeners to evoke emotions of love, happiness, bonding and togetherness through his chillout and downtempo melodies. Overall his tunes are solid, deep, intense, psychedelic and intelligent with a lot of spirituality incorporated within.

Sanathana is also featured in DJ Mag, Middle East and Infusion Magazine in Dubai for his music production and contribution to the psy culture / community in the region of Dubai, UAE.
