Due to the introduction to psychedelic trance in 1994, Eric Bijl (Liftshift) from the Netherlands has been on a roll with the psychedelic movement ever since. Growing up in a rich musical environment it was at a young age that Eric was inspired to pick up some instruments on his own and to surrender to the chords of life. After playing guitar in Rock-Metal-Blues and Jazz bands in his adolescence it was time to get involved with electronic music in the year 1994. Since then he has been DJ-ing most of the time and of course around the year 2000, ready to get into producing. Bijl traded in his guitar for digital bliss and started the "Liftshift" project.  Having had psychedelic free port Amsterdam as his musical playground and roots for many years, it was in the year 2008 Lifty decided to move to the idyllic surroundings of the mystical, lush and sunny landscapes of Sintra, Portugal, away from the ever pushing dynamics of the city. It is here where his music started maturing to higher levels. His music is best defined as deep and melancholic of nature although very pushing and energetic. They contain a delicate balance between raw and nourishing sounds, beats and magic. Fat bass-lines and funky communicating elements form the basis whilst on top ever evolving atmospheres most certainly to join together with one another in a most promised climax! Since 2003 "Liftshift" has been performing his live sets in many countries, like: Holland, Israel, USA, Brazil, Germany, Hungary, Belgium and Ireland amongst others, on festivals like Solstice, Earthdance, Universo Paralello, Sonica and Fullmoon Festival. From 2005 Eric has been releasing on Labels like: Flow, Sonic Dragon, Echoes, Millenium, Spintwist, Sonica, Plusquam, and soon to appear on Neurobiotic.
